Troldtekt Acoustic Panel 25mm – Natural Wood Extreme K0
Troldtekt Acoustic Extreme is a refined cement-bonded wood wool acoustic panel designed to reduce reverberation and improve speech clarity when installed on ceilings and walls.
Each panel measures 1200 x 600 x 25mm and combines Troldtekt's finest Extreme 0.5mm wood wool structure with a Natural Wood finish and K0 straight square edge.
The exceptionally fine surface makes Troldtekt Extreme particularly well suited to architectural interiors where strong acoustic performance is required alongside a smoother and more refined visual finish.
Key Benefits
- Extreme 0.5mm structure: Troldtekt's finest standard wood wool structure gives the panel a particularly refined surface appearance.
- Acoustic ceiling and wall panel: helps reduce reverberation and reflected sound within busy interior spaces.
- K0 straight edge: creates clean, simple joints between adjoining panels without a bevelled edge.
- Natural Wood finish: retains the natural appearance of cement-bonded wood wool without a coloured factory-applied finish.
- Architectural appearance: the very fine Extreme texture is ideal where a more detailed, uniform-looking wood wool surface is preferred.
- Ceiling and wall installation: suitable for direct fixing to appropriate timber battens as well as compatible Troldtekt profile systems.
- Durable construction: manufactured from cement-bonded wood wool for long-term use in demanding interior environments.
- Fire classification: Natural Wood Troldtekt panels are available with B-s1,d0 reaction-to-fire classification.
Where Is Troldtekt Extreme Best Used?
The refined Extreme structure makes this panel particularly suitable where both room acoustics and the visual finish of the ceiling or wall are important.
Typical applications include classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, restaurants, reception areas, leisure facilities, cultural buildings, communal spaces and contemporary residential interiors.
The Natural Wood finish also works particularly well alongside exposed timber, concrete, neutral finishes and other natural materials.
Extreme 0.5mm Surface
Troldtekt panels are available in a number of different wood wool structures. The Extreme structure uses approximately 0.5mm wood wool fibres, producing a noticeably finer surface than the Ultrafine 1.0mm and Fine 1.5mm structures.
How It Works
The open cement-bonded wood wool structure allows sound energy to enter the surface of the panel rather than simply reflecting it back into the room.
This helps reduce reverberation and improve speech clarity, comfort and overall room acoustics.
Final acoustic performance depends on the complete construction, including panel thickness, mounting depth, insulation and the supporting ceiling or wall structure.
Acoustic performance: Troldtekt acoustic systems can achieve high levels of sound absorption when incorporated into the correct acoustic build-up.
For improved performance, we recommend installing RWA45 50mm slabs behind timber battens where appropriate.
Construction & Finish
Troldtekt Acoustic panels are manufactured from cement-bonded wood wool, combining the visual and acoustic qualities of wood fibres with the strength and durability of cement.
Long Service Life & Maintenance
Troldtekt panels are designed as a durable interior acoustic finish and normally require very little maintenance once installed.
Easy to Clean
Dust and general dirt can normally be removed using a vacuum cleaner with an ordinary brush attachment or a slightly damp cloth.
Marks on untreated Natural Wood panels can also be carefully treated with fine-grained sandpaper where appropriate.
Painting Natural Wood Panels
Untreated Natural Wood Troldtekt can be painted in future using a suitable water-based acrylic paint if the interior colour scheme changes.
Care should be taken not to apply excessive paint that could completely close the open wood wool structure.
Minor Repairs
Small areas of localised damage can be repaired using matching cement-bonded wood wool material taken from a spare panel or sample.
Where a panel is seriously damaged or contaminated, replacement of the affected panel is normally recommended.
Maintenance tip: keep a small number of spare panels after installation for future local repairs or replacements.

Direct Fix Installation
Troldtekt Extreme K0 panels can be installed directly onto suitable timber battens on ceilings and walls. Compatible Troldtekt steel profile systems can also be used where required.
1. Plan the Panel Layout
Plan the ceiling or wall layout before installation so the panel joints remain straight and unnecessary cuts are minimised.
Where practical, start with a complete row of panels and work outwards across the surface.
2. Install the Supporting Battens
For direct fixing to timber, use suitable battens in accordance with Troldtekt installation guidance. A minimum batten size of 22 x 95mm is commonly specified for this construction.
The supporting layout should be installed at a maximum spacing of 600mm.
3. Fix the Panels
Fix each 1200 x 600mm panel using 6 Troldtekt structure screws.
The screws should be positioned approximately 20mm from the panel edges and driven carefully so the head sits correctly against the surface.
Do not overdrive the fixings, as excessive tightening can indent or damage the wood wool surface.
4. Maintain Straight Joints
The K0 square-edge profile is designed to create a clean straight joint between adjoining panels. Maintain consistent alignment throughout the installation for the best finished appearance.
Direct fix summary:
- Minimum timber batten size: 22 x 95mm
- Maximum support spacing: 600mm
- Screws per panel: 6
- Screw position: approximately 20mm from panel edges
- Recommended screw: 4.2 x 45mm Troldtekt Structure Screw
Ceiling Installation
Troldtekt Extreme can be installed onto suitable longitudinal or transverse timber battens when used as an acoustic ceiling lining.
The complete supporting construction should always be capable of carrying the additional weight of the panels and battens.
For higher acoustic absorption: incorporating an acoustic insulation layer behind the panel can considerably improve the performance of the complete ceiling system.
Wall Installation
Troldtekt Extreme panels can also be used as an acoustic wall lining, providing both reverberation control and a durable architectural surface.
Panels can be direct fixed onto suitable timber battens over an appropriate structural background or framing system.
