Product Information

Soundmass Self-Adhesive Perimeter Strip (10m x 25mm x 5mm)
The Soundmass Self-Adhesive Perimeter Strip is a precision-engineered acoustic isolation strip designed for use beneath carpet gripper rods when installing carpets over Soundmass Acoustic Underlay.
Made from a high-density acoustic-grade elastomer, this strip lifts standard gripper rods to the correct height while maintaining full perimeter isolation. This ensures the underlayβs acoustic integrity is preserved, preventing flanking noise and maintaining impact sound reduction performance between floors.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Accurate Height Compensation: 5mm thickness raises gripper rods to align perfectly with carpets installed directly over Soundmass Acoustic Underlay.
-
Acoustic Integrity: Prevents direct contact between gripper rods and the subfloor, maintaining sound isolation and avoiding noise bridging.
-
Self-Adhesive Backing: Easy, mess-free application β simply peel, stick, and press along the perimeter.
-
Durable Construction: Manufactured from High-density Isolation Rubber, providing excellent resistance to compression and long-term performance under load.
-
Flexible & Cut-to-Length: Supplied in 10m rolls that can be trimmed to suit any room size or layout.
-
Professional Finish: Enables carpet installations that are both acoustically and visually seamless.

Application Guidance
-
Ensure subfloor surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust.
-
Peel back the release liner from the adhesive face.
-
Apply the strip around the perimeter of the room beneath where carpet grippers will sit.
-
Press firmly along the length to ensure consistent adhesion.
-
Fix carpet gripper rods directly on top of the strip using nails or pins as required.
This setup prevents the gripper rods from coming into direct contact with the structural floor, maintaining the acoustic isolation of the Soundmass system and protecting against flanking transmission.
Recommended Use
-
Apartments, flats, and separate floor constructions
-
Carpeted areas over Soundmass Acoustic Underlay
-
Projects requiring Part E compliance for sound insulation
