SilenceCORE Acoustic Lagging is a high-performance acoustic insulation system designed to reduce airborne noise radiating from rainwater pipes, soil pipes, waste pipes, ductwork and mechanical services.

The system combines a dense mineral-loaded acoustic barrier with a flexible NBR isolation layer and reinforced foil facing to deliver effective sound attenuation across a wide range of frequencies.

Manufactured using durable, flexible materials, SilenceCORE is easy to install and can be wrapped directly around pipes and services on site. The foil outer facing provides added durability and vapour resistance, making SilenceCORE suitable for demanding building-service applications where reliable acoustic performance is required.

How SilenceCORE Works

Pipework can radiate airborne noise through walls, ceilings and service risers into adjoining rooms. SilenceCORE adds mass and acoustic isolation directly around the pipe or duct, helping reduce the sound radiating from the service.

The dense mineral-loaded layer helps resist sound transmission, while the flexible NBR layer provides isolation and allows the product to conform closely to the pipe surface. The reinforced foil outer facing protects the acoustic layers and creates a durable finished surface.

Installation Guide

1. Ensure the pipe, duct or service is clean, dry and free from dust, oil and loose material.
2. Measure the circumference and length of the area requiring treatment.
3. Cut the SilenceCORE roll to the required size using a sharp knife and straight edge.
4. Remove the release liner gradually and wrap the material firmly around the pipe or duct.
5. Press the self-adhesive backing firmly into position, ensuring close contact with the service.
6. Butt adjoining sections together closely and avoid leaving gaps.
7. Seal all joints, overlaps and exposed edges with aluminium foil tape.
8. Pay particular attention to bends, branches, couplings and penetrations to maintain continuous coverage.

For best results, cover the service continuously and seal every joint. Gaps or unsealed edges can reduce the overall acoustic performance of the installation.

Installation Tips

• Allow the product to reach the installation-area temperature before applying it.
• Apply only to clean and dry surfaces.
• Use a sharp knife to produce clean, accurate cuts.
• Keep joints tightly butted together.
• Seal joints and exposed edges with aluminium foil tape.
• Maintain continuous coverage around bends, couplings and branch connections.
• Avoid compressing, puncturing or damaging the acoustic layers during installation.
