Add one additional airborne or impact sound insulation test to a qualifying Part E sound-testing visit.

This product is designed for projects that require more tests than are included in the selected sound-testing package. The additional test will be completed by the engineer during the same confirmed site visit.

One additional test included: select either an airborne wall test, airborne floor test or impact floor test, subject to the agreed testing programme.

Cannot Be Booked as a Standalone Site Visit

The £100 ex VAT price only applies when this test is completed during the same site visit as one of our main Part E sound-testing packages.

It does not include a separate engineer call-out. If you require a standalone test, return visit or retest, please contact us for a quotation before ordering.

Airborne and Impact Tests Explained

Airborne sound testing measures how effectively a separating wall or floor reduces sound such as speech, television and music. A controlled loudspeaker source is used in one room while the received level is measured in the adjoining dwelling.

Impact sound testing applies to separating floors. A calibrated tapping machine creates a controlled impact source on the floor above while sound levels are measured in the room below.

Site Requirements

Same confirmed visit The additional test must be completed during the engineer visit booked under the main sound-testing package.

Suitable test rooms Rooms must be substantially complete, clear of furniture and suitable for measurement.

Simultaneous access Access must be available to both sides of the separating wall or floor being tested.

Electrical power A working 240V socket must be available in the relevant test rooms.

Quiet conditions Power tools, vehicle movements and other significant background noise must be controlled.

Bare floor where required Impact testing should take place before final floor coverings are installed.
